EXAMINATION SITE CLOSING FOR AN EMERGENCY: In the event that severe weather or another emergency forces the closure of an examination site on a scheduled examination date, your examination will be rescheduled. PSI personnel will attempt to contact you in this situation. However, you may check the status of your examination schedule by calling (800) 733-9267. Every effort will be made to reschedule your examination at a convenient time as soon as possible. |

The New North Salt Lake City, UT site is now open for scheduling. Testing will begin May 1st for computer exams, and May 8th for practical exams. The site at 147 W. Election Road in Draper is now closed. |

Michigan Residential Builders-M&A Contractors. IMPORTANT: All MI sites are full for the month of May. If you have pre-paid for your examination, the fee will be valid for one year. If you have not sent payment, please do not send to PSI unless you are planning to test in June and beyond. |

Effective June 1, 2008
New Licensing Requirements:
60 Hours of Prelicensure Education
If you wish to avoid taking 60 hours of prelicensure education, you must:
-Pass both the Business/Law and Practice/Trade sections of the Residential Builders examination or both the Business/Law and at least one Trade section of the Maintenance & Alteration examination
-Make application for licensure to the Department of Labor and Economic Growth prior to June 1, 2008.
Because May 31 is a Saturday, the Department will accept applications for licensure with the correct fees and having passed the required examinations prior to June 1, 2008 until 4:30 PM EST, Monday, June 2, 2008.
If you have not passed both sections of the examination, do NOT make application for licensure. More information can be obtained at www.michigan.gov/builders Click Here, or by calling the department at 866-630-6608.
Public Act 157 of 2007 requires individuals seeking a Residential Builder or M&A Contractor license to complete 60 hours of education courses. Anyone applying later than the above dates will be required to successfully complete the prelicensure education courses in order to qualify for a license. |
